Seattle Drug Defense Lawyer
If the police are at the door and asking for consent to search, CALL A LAWYER FIRST. If you give consent you may not be able to raise important challenges to the search later. If the police have a warrant and want your cooperation in their search, CALL A LAWYER FIRST. 206-343-5100.
Defense of a drug charge begins with a good investigation that includes looking into how the police got a search warrant. Search warrants are issued by judges based upon a written or telephonic affidavit from investigating officers. If the information supplied doesn’t meet the legal test, then the search may be invalid. Robert Wayne recently taught a class on challenging search warrants to the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (WACDL), “Challenging Search Warrants; Beyond the Boilerplate.”
Investigation
A prompt and thorough investigation can be the key to winning at trial or getting charges dismissed. Photographs of injuries or property damage should be taken immediately. Here are some case examples of how investigation made a difference. Click here for Investigation – A Key to Winning.
